Full Metal Cage for the Atomos Shogun 4K Recorder March 22 2015

The Atomos Shogun 4K HDMI/12G-SDI Recorder and 7" Monitor is an important device that unlocks the best possible recording quality from popular cameras such as the Panasonic GH4 and Sony A7s. With inexpensive Solid State Drives as it's recording media, even high end professional camera systems like the Sony PXW-FS7 4K XDCAM are using this as an optional external video recording system.

Yet while the Shogun is being used by such professional camera systems, most professionals will agree that HDMI is not the most reliable connection. HDMI Ports can be easily damaged and cables are easily disconnected as the camera is moved about - risking drop outs on your recording.

PVGear has designed a full metal cage system that protects the plastic housing of the Atomos Shogun, locks down and protects fragile HDMI Ports, and provides several mounting threads for additional accessories that are often used with the Shogun.

As the Atomos Shogun can also serve as an Audio Preamp with XLR inputs, the additional PVGear Cage mounting threads can be used to mount several wireless audio receivers. To further protect the Shogun Audio Input Cable, PVGear has designed a custom block that surrounds and protects the cable from accidental damage.

The new PVGear Cage for the Atomos Shogun is already in production and we are currently waiting for our manufacturer to ship our first batch. Pricing has not yet been announced, and expected to start shipping April, 2015.
